Turbo 350 or Turbo 400

I pulled the engine and tranny from my C-20 parts truck today. Sold the 350. It has a 3 speed auto, but I really don't know how to tell a TH-350 apart from a TH-400.

I was thinking that the TH-400 has some type of electronic kickdown switch or something....this one didn't have any wires hooked up to it.

But then again, being a 3/4 ton, I'd expect a TH-400.

Re: Turbo 350 or Turbo 400

The turbo 400 has a electronic kick down switch on the drivers side of the tranny. If you go to the bottom of this page http://www.classicheartbeat.com/Tips.htm
you should be able to ID your tranny by looking at the pan.

Re: Turbo 350 or Turbo 400

The 350 looks square with a corner gone & the 400 has an irregular shape...

Re: Turbo 350 or Turbo 400

Gee...Is it me but does the 400 sort of look like the State of OHIO?
But then again I may be in the state of confusion?
