Removing Timing Cover

I am thinking about removing my timing cover for 2 reasons. One is to make sure I dont have a loose timing chain. Two is that I want to line up TDC once and for all on this motor I have been having a issue with a balancer. Since I have never done this before is there any thing that might come out oil etc?

Thanks

Re: Removing Timing Cover

If you loosen the front two pan bolts & carefully pry the cover off, you can re-install it when you are done in there. Make sure you put some silicone on the corners & tighten the pan bolts again after you get the cover back on...
