sandblast and paint prep
I'm getting ready to bring my frame to the blasters. My question is should I leave all the crossmembers bolted in (main front crossmember, tranny crossmember, and trailing arm crossmember(no longer riveted)) or should I unbolt them and have them blasted and painted separately and then assemble?

Re: sandblast and paint prep
I would pull them apart and prime and paint individually then bolt it all together and paint last coat.

Re: sandblast and paint prep
Whatever you do, get a written quote when you drop the frame off. I just had a nightmare with the blaster up charging by nearly 233%.

Re: sandblast and paint prep
I would powder them, it is more durable and cheaper unless you do it your self. Either way, I would recommend taking them apart. I had mine powdered, and did not take them apart and had some build up in the crevices that I did not like.

Re: sandblast and paint prep
On the frame if you pain instead of powder i would apint it the last coat when its back to gether so all the bolts are painted up and it acts like a seal where every thing comes togeterto help from getting water and stuff in the cracks.
