what are the proper emblems that are on the fenders of a 1969 short bed step side 4x4.

"4 wheel drive" under the marker light. Fender may be a "C-10", "Custom/10" or "cst/10" May or may not have the engine displacement under the fender emblem.

I`ll add...if it had an optional engine it would be located under model badge...6-292 or 8-350 on your truck.A 307 was standard V8 (serial#KE1...).250 was standard I6 (serial#KS1...).
