Adjusting Power Steering?
1971....
The power steering seems to easy? Is there a way to adjust? To make it more tighter, theres no slop in turning, the gear box was just rebuilt. Can I adjust it at the gear box? Also am putting a smaller steering wheel on. |

It's a catastrophic success.

Re: Adjusting Power Steering?
Not to my knowledge. There is a valve in the box that controls that, may take it back to your rebuilder. Could just take the belt off the power steering pump, that will toughen things up.LOL

Re: Adjusting Power Steering?
Add a steering shock to your drag link just like the 4X4 guys do. That will stiffen thing up a bit as well as absorb some of the road bumps.

Re: Adjusting Power Steering?
theres a valve in the back of the pump, its the large fitting , where you attach the pressure line . unscrew it and try a few valves from smaller cars ( as in a camaro or chevelle or nova )it may slow it down .

Re: Adjusting Power Steering?
i'd just add that smaller wheel and see how you like it . if you ever put wider tires on the front ,it may be just fine .

Re: Adjusting Power Steering?
Smaller steering wheel, I did think that that would help. Here's the steering wheel I'll put on, just don't know about the horn button? It was not the the wheel.
