Tech: Blazer Tank Conversion Fuel Filler Delete - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Materials Needed:

1. Fuel Filler blank (Got mine here http://myworld.ebay.com/infanti72 but he is a site vender www.infantirides.com)

2. Fuel filler rubber grommet (can use current on or get new one)

3. Bolt (2 1/2"), washer, and wing nut

4. Old 4.5 grinding disc

Step 1: Weld or epoxy bolt to back of the fuel filler blank (see picture above)

Step 2: Paint old grinding disk to use as a backer for inside of delete and to not look too ghetto from inside.

Step 3: Install rubber fuel neck filler grommet w/ cone side of grommet on the inside of the truck and the flat side on the outside.

Step 4: Insert fuel filler delete with the bolt going into cab.

Step Five: On the inside of cab insert old grinding disk with flat side first on then bolt, then washer, then wing nut. Tighten

Step five: Here is what you end up with. (I left blank unpainted for demonstration purposes.)

If you want to you can add a bead of silicone before you tighten the delete down all the way.

Good thinking Primered_69,very ingenious. Another option other than welding the hole up , good job.

that would work good with the body pannel adhesive that they use now instead of welding.
