Re: DISASTER 101. UPS strikes at Triautomotive

Let me try and help you with the UPS saga, for those of you that still use UPS.

The Drivers at their discretion can release a package at a house if they feel that it will be safe. Additionally there are certain areas that they will and will not do this. If the Driver release at your home or business and you wish that they would not, contact your local UPS center and let them know that you don't want the "driver to release" to your address. Now with this said, you will either have to be there to sign or pick it up at the local UPS center. So pick your poison.

As for UPS running over your parts with a forklift, well I have worked for them for 12 years in the airline side. We don't use forklifts. Not saying that your stuff wasn't damaged. Just not by a forklift. If you never call in the damage you never know if you will get your refund.

Nuff said...

Re: DISASTER 101. UPS strikes at Triautomotive

FedEx or DHL all the way, piss on UPS no offence to soba_03 your just an employee and maybe in different departments its different but I have a couple of friends that work at shipping yards in West Sac and Rocklin here in cali and they say its terrible the way some people treat packages and there also not happy with the company and supervisors in general. My mother in law sent a laptop she was no longer using it was sitting on the doorstep when I got home in a box that lokked like it was full of meat and a pack of wolves got a hold of it, everything was there undamaged but we were just lucky. I have never had one package from FedEx or DHL damaged ever in fact just received a box from kore3 yesterday they were disc brake brackets and hardware for the rear of my 97 box is undamaged and the parts only had some packing paper in there wasn't even that tight but it still got here undamaged with all the parts in it, also UPS is 33% more expensive than FedEx it was $10 bucks to ship 10 pounds for those brackets with FedEx I also had the choice of UPS which was $14 and some change. I weigh 180 lbs I can stand on a box without crushing it so whatever UPS is doing sounds like its uncalled for and something needs to change. Simple fix get the word out when people stop using UPS maybe they'll change the way they handle things you'd think that in this day in age were people order more stuff online instead of driving across two towns or even a state to pick it up they would want to get with the program being an ever growing industry

Well any post that has got this many complaints about a company and in only 5 hours has spilled onto a second page theres most likely an issue with the majority, the problem is there quality control if all shipping stations ran it the same way maybe no one would be complaning but obviosly they dont, like I said before different departments maybe different but if 7/10 arent doing so good I'd take my business somewhere else

and 75% of the time, if you do call in the damage you STILL will not get your refund.

Re: DISASTER 101. UPS strikes at Triautomotive

At work, a number of our customers require we ship the parts we make to them via UPS. It is convenient for us because there is a UPS store right down the street. We recently shipped an order of 20 stock plate bolts (for a can die), and they sent them back as damaged and incorrect quantity. WTF? I do most of the shipping, and I sent these out. I feel like my packaging jobs should be bomb proof.

When we got the box back, it appeared to have been speared on the end of a forklift tine, and then crushed somehow. UPS refused the claim, saying incorrect packaging. 7 of the bolts were MIA, and the rest were damaged beyond repair (threads were flattened, one had the cap bent almost 90 degrees to one side. We make these out of 4150 PHT steel, which is sorta soft, but come ON. How do you do that to a bolt which is .800 thick with a 1.25" cap on the top??????) My boss ended up scrapping them, making new for the customer on his dime, did not ship UPS, had me deliver them personally to the customer, 1.5 hours one way trip.
