im looking at supercharging my engine and im trying to figure out what i need to get to that point, i was wondering how much the stock block will hold (400sb) or if i'll need to get a new one. haven't really rebuilt an engine before so help me out as much as you can, carb, piston, and cam wise. thanks

Re: stock block, how much?

Buy good components for the rotating assembly ie crank rods and pistons. Forged pistons are a must. You can get buy with scat crank and rods. As far as pistons I would stay around 8:1 for a street motor. Oh yea I've been told to put another keyway on the crank and get good heads. I am in the process of gathering parts for a blown sbc. Pro topline 200cc heads, scat 9000 crank and h beam rods, and speedpro coated dished pistons. I plan on going with a 6-71 and running methenol. Its going to be a while.
