Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

I found this on Ebay. I have been wondering what they would look like on a 67-72. The truck looks great, but they are too narrow IMO. What do you guys think?

IMHO I think there is too much going on with all the lines.

Not for me either, but might look better on a truck without trim and a wider stripe...looks to hotwheels looking for me

Re: Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

My first car had some Goodyear redlines on it. Red looks good on the black. Also, the truck needs some wider tires.

Re: Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

I'm kinda torn myself. I actually think it would look better on a 67-68 CST with just the lower trim, and I think it would look better without the smoothie caps on the ralleys. The factory style cap would look better IMO.

Re: Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

When I started planning my panel quite awhile back I was going to use redlines. Now that the project has taken sooooooo much longer to come together I dont want em anymore because so many people have jumped on the redline band wagon. I think they would have looked good too. Panel is going to be black with very little chrome.

The truck in the pic would look fine with em if it was dropped quite a bit more. Tires wouldnt look quite as skinny that way.
Those are probably Coker tires, they dont have a good size selection of redlines. There is another company that has em in almost any size you can think of...and no I cant remember their name...=( If it comes to me Ill post it up.

Kinda contrasts with the woodgrain. Probably look better on a truck with no trim in my opinion. Not my cup of tea though.

Re: Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

Agreed. Though it is a period-correct look (right down to the size), I don't much care for it -- especially with the wood-grain trim.

Re: Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

I think removing the upper trim and different wheels would make it look a little better.

Re: Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

I think it looks good, I've always liked red lines. Must say used to seeing them on Vettes but I like it when someone dares to be different! Can you see this sweet truck pulling a black 69' L71 BB Block Vette with red lines as well. Just a thought or should I say a dream but a good one.

esll.

Re: Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

The "Muscle Truck" project I am doing will have a set mounted on the truck rallies for the factory look and I have a set of Weld Draglights w/ Mickey thompson rubber to switch out when I want the street machine look. I think they look great!

Re: Redlines on our trucks - What do you think?

Redlines were always the narrow 3/8" stripe. They aren`t available big enough.Have to go custom. Those would actually look alot better on that truck with stock silver painted rallyes and no beauty rings. The black`n`chrome trim would be better.More like what was found on 67 Chevelles, etc. If that truck just had the factory red pinstripe it would look awesome.
