I just bought a 1970 k10 chevy and it has a body lift. The person I got it from was using it to plow his driveway. He had welded a new linkage from the pedal to the pivot arm on the frame. It is really interesting but it barely works. I was wondering how other people have dealt with this linkage problem. If you have a cab lift and a manual tranny you know what I am talking about. Thanks for the help. I am new to this forum

I have never done it. But someone here has to know all about the 4X4 stuff.

"Kits are also available for vehicles with up to 3” body lifts – where a stock linkage may not fit. Pushrods are upgraded to a stout 9/16” OD with 3/8” mounting hardware."

heyjoe, I saw those but that is from the tranny to the frame. I need from peddle to frame.

The kit I purchased comes with both rods. Pedal to z-bar or pivot bar. Z-bar or pivot bar to clutch fork.

HEYJOE thanks you rock. If anyone could post pics of how they set up the linkage with a lifted cab I would be greatful. I am contemplating switching to a hydrolic master/slave setup. Is the linkage from the pedal to the fram curved or straight?

Straight but with an offset.I`ve never heard of modifying clutch linkage for a body lift.I`ve seen the z-bar altered to clear headers.I wonder why you can`t just use stock parts.Do you have headers?

I will post pictures of my linkage today. Now I don't want to hear anyone laughing when you see it. Remember I did not make the linkage, it came with the truck.

here is a picture of the linkage where it comes out of the cab. Looks like it was made with a piece of black pipe.

Gotta love bailing wire and twine mentality expressed through welding.
I certainly hope someone can help you get that straightened out!

Sorry, I just saw the "don't laugh post" - but I can't help it... I'm still laughing.... I think it's because I have a lifetimes memories and they all look like that (never any chrome, style or flash for me....I always get what you have this time)

Could you not use a stock setup to get started and then make any necessary changes you need - at least you'd have a clean slate to start with. I'm sure there are pics on here somewhere of some setups that would be similiar - try Yukonjack's(?) build thread(s)..... I'll see if he had any pics with that view (kinda that view....)

Mine is custom also, to clear headers......Just take your measurements and build another one. Steel and a welder are good friends...Any good welding shop should be able to make you one for less than say.....$30.00. Shoot, I made mine for like 10.00 in materials, and it looks pretty good.
