We were talking about the rear ends of the later model Chevies.

Dodge uses a 14B in the front of theirs...

the new dodge front is a good axle you can pick one up for around 600 but after you pay 2k for the lock out hub convertion for it you would be better off to get a built d60.

On a side note I did have to replace the hole front end on My D-max one time already and its a 2005.

Why bother with the lock out hubs? They use a 37 spline axle shaft and HUGE unit bearing. It's stronger than a 60 any day.


I have 35 spline chromo axles in my 60... just trying to get a bit of strength that comes from the factory in an AAM.

true I guess as long as the TC is in 2wd it wouldnt matter any way. Im running spicer 35 stubs in mine. Im cheap.

i might have the wrong knowledge but doesnt the ff have 6 or 8 bolts holding the pinion on to the housing?

I think the eaton rear is that way but not a 14b or d60
