Re: what frame is it S10-C10
If it was a Blazer fram I'd bet money it was a full size K5 frame. S10's were much smaller and had a IFS front axle.
C10's are 2wd half ton trucks K10's are 4wd half ton trucks K5's are 4wd half ton SUV's (same as K10, but shorter wb and different rear frame kick up. Lets see this 55!

You mean 55 Bel Air, or a 55 truck ?

Re: what frame is it S10-C10
If it is truly an '84 Blazer than:
Is it a 2wd - then its probably an S10 frame as '82 was the last year of 2wd K5's Is it a 4x4 - if so does it have a straight axle or IFS? If straight then probably a K5, if IFS then defineatly an S10 If is a different year year than '84 all bets are off. C's are always 2wd and K's are always 4x4 EXCEPT for K5's (Blazers only) which as noted above were only available as an optional 2wd until '82. A guy I work with put a late 40's Studebaker truck on to an S10 chasis that had been converted over to a TPI V8 with little modification so don't discount the S10 frame just yet!

Re: what frame is it S10-C10
thanks,
all i know is that when i bought it the guy put brake pads and bearing on the front. the only thing that fit was a blazer 84. if i check parts the regular listed blazer has one part number and the s10 blazer has another number. so i guess i can find out this way if it is a s10 or not. but then the question is just which year it is. i guess by checking part numbers and can find at least a year range that it can be. this way i can order lowering spindles and leaf springs and not have to return them and hate life. |

Re: what frame is it S10-C10
if it has the car bolt pattern wheels it is s-10.they also have a welded in front cross member.boxed front section of frame(factory)
if it has truck bolt pattern wheel it 2wd blazer(5 lug)but last year for a factory 2wd full size blazer was 82 but some could have changed a 4x4 frame to 2wd.they front cross member bolts in on these ones.open channel frame(factory) if it is a 4wd. k5 blazer(87 up were v-10s for the model instead of k5)if it has 6 bolt wheel pattern and solid front axle it is full size.open channel frame(factory) s-10 had IFS in the front.the front cross member in the frame for the front suspension is welded in as well.boxed front frame(factory) |
