I really like the look of the GMCs. The 67 and 68 front end/grille were the same, no?

No. The 67 had GMC stamped into the grill, and no side markers.

Not all 67's were chrome. Many 67's and 68's had white painted grills. 1969 and later, all the grills were chrome.

Re: Pics of 67 GMC

Man - 9 posts and I haven't seen anyone accurately describe the breakdown in the GMC grilles yet! I thought special-K would nail it for sure (he was the closest).

'67:GMC stamped in center.
'68:same grille/no stamping.
'69/'70:same center grille as '68/all chrome/wider outer trim.
'71/'72:wider center bar with black accent paint.

Surely! Here's your prize:

Is the 1967 the only year they had this tailgate? Or was it '67-'68?

That's what I have on my '71. I knew it was a '67 (or '67-'68) when I put it on there, but I liked it better than the larger lettered ones. Plus, it was all I could find when I built my truck. Aftermarket ones weren't being produced yet, and my two factory ones were in bad shape.
