And the 267 was put in mid and small size cars a few years like the short lived Monza and I believe some Malibus had them. V8 engine with better mpg for those who just had to have a V8.

Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't the 267 first available in the Monza's? I know that the '80 Malibu my wife had when we got married had one in it. But I'm thinkin' that the Monza's were the first GM cars to get it. Probably as scarce as a 252 Buick V-6, but not as scarce as the variations of GM Diesels, like the diesel V-6 in the late 70's/early 80's Olds Cutlasses. Anybody seen one of those, lately?

I think Grampaw was just doin' what he knew to do, livin' in the south part of Tennessee. Cars was for runnin' 'shine. "Gonna gussy up the pickup, Maw."

Boog....yeah, even to imagine Rosie in a G-string is makin' it difficult to keep my oats down, this morning.

I had one in a 79 Malibu. I had a 83 Cutlass 2 door...rally package...steering wheel, gauges, console, and floor shift, tach, rally rims.....and it was the 350 V8 diesel. Very odd car. I bought it for parts

Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!

With the add ons cheapens the value, but this could be a diamond in the rough? Its no worse than some I've seen.

Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!

So, it also runs without an air cleaner, if you look at the engine pictures it looks like the alternator and fan are spinning. Something had to go for all that chrome.

About 1980, in my hometown, the driver of that would have been stereotyped as a Goat Roper, they did all the right stuff to that to get it there.

Re: Grampa was PIMPIN!

A 267 had a 3.50 bore & 350 (3.48) stroke. IIRC, Monzas had 262s, which had a 3.671 bore and 3.10 stroke. IMO the 267 was a better engine, it made decent torque down low as it is a square motor.
