Cool 2wd Blazer @ Lonestar Nationals !

Guys, I hed to post pics of this cool 2wd Blazer I saw at the Goodguys Lonestar Nationals this past weekend. What caught my eye was the most ingenious use of a set of '67 Camar SS hood louvers ever- as an engine cover for a LS Series engine ! This was also the owner's first ever paint job and he did everything on the truck but the upholstery. He even made a cool cowl panel cover to hide the back of the headlights . It sits on 22" wheels and has an AirRide airbag system for ride height adjustments. I hope you guys enjoy the pics !

Rick

Got any bigger pics. I can't really tell what is going on with the engine cover.

Here's a link to my gallery with bigger pics. I guess I posted too many pics in one post , so it shrunk them .

I don't see how it could go any lower. I looked at it several times and wondered why they put such tall tires on it. Everything was well detailed, but the ride height was all wrong.

Re: Cool 2wd Blazer @ Lonestar Nationals !

It has some cool touches but those wheels need to be sold as scrap iron. If it was about 3" lower it would look a lot better. I am not sure on the engine cover I guess it will grow on you but it different strokes for different folks. It is a hell of a lot nicer than mine though

I agree on the wheels entirely !! I think the guy said he put that size on so he could get better scores at shows, evidently the "DONK" crowd wants bigger and bigger wheels or they judge you lower in scores .
I think 19" wheels should be the biggest on it to look good.

Probably... Id like to see what he runs on it for himself.
Id like to see the rest of the drive train as well. Sweet though. Tom

Re: Cool 2wd Blazer @ Lonestar Nationals !

The wheels aren't quite right. I don't think it's the size, but the style and off-set. It needs to be lower and I'm not a fan of the racing style roll bar. He has some unique touches - the engine cover, the smooth firewall, the dual center AC vents turned vertical so he could run a double DIN. What's he running for fans? He must have electric pushers.

Re: Cool 2wd Blazer @ Lonestar Nationals !

Unfortunately the owner wasn't near it when I went by. I finally saw him at the end of the day, but he was driving away. While I don't personally care for the wheels myself, it was a "really" nice Blazer. It had super slick paint and a lot of subtle mods along with the ones already pointed out.

It is for sure a cool ride to say the least. He could bag it and put some cool wheels on it and it would give me wood

This truck is kinda like Britney, a few things that I would change but I would still love to take it for a ride.

Re: Cool 2wd Blazer @ Lonestar Nationals !

I think that those are 68 hood louvers. Nice work, just gonna have to go ahead and back half the frame and work over those front inner fenders to get it to lay out nice.

I agree with everyone else I love the smooth engine bay but the wheels got to go and it needs to be dropped but what do I know my 2wd blaze is still sitting out under a tarp. Good job man keep up the good work
