700r4

Can someone give me the GM p/n's for the brake switch and vacuum switch,
and connector for on the tranny. I am needing to install a converter lockup on a 700R4. If you have diagram that would really help.

Re: 700r4

I used a Painless Wiring part #60109. Comes with vacuum switch, brake switch, and 4th gear switch for the valve body. Its a great kit . I highly recommend it. Available @ summitracing.com

Re: 700r4

I highly reccomend the kit from TCI.

I've installed this kit at least 10 times, takes about 15 minutes, and it cost about half that of the painless kit.

My favorite feature, is the ability to add a switch to disable lockup, so you can utilize 4th gear while towing

I don't want to steal your thread. I was thinking of switching to a 700r trans. Which would you recomend one from a GM car or one from a truck?

Re: 700r4

You can also use the 700r4.com kit
As for witch 700r4 you want I think the only difference between the truck and car is the tail shaft. I know the vet has a different servo and a 2100 rpm TQ instead of the 1800 in the trucks and Fbodys. There may be some valve body differences but it would be minor when I was putting a 700r4 in my blazer advanced adaptors said it didn’t mater if I used a car or truck Trans because I was changing the tail shaft out any way to work with the 205 transfer case.

Re: 700r4

i used the bowtie overdrives kit, worked, good, easy to install, comes with instructions and good tech support. do a search, there was a thread on the gm part numbers a while back. jugernot- stay away from 6 cylinder transmissions, they dont have as many clutches in them as the v8's.
