Fan Shroud.
Has anyone ever fabbed a new fan shroud here? I had my factory shroud and hung onto it for quite a while after I had installed an electric fan. Just before my fan burned out, I gave the shroud to a fella in need.
I am a fella in need now. This motor is a 305 out of an 84 Camaro. It differs quite a bit from the 305 TBI that came in this. Most of the parts and brackets up front were not interchangeable and I had to do quite a bit of fabbing and adjusting to get the ac back on this motor with headers. It looks to me like the fan sits lower in the engine bay than before. It is certainly not centered on the rad, but I don't think the TBI was either. It just looks rather low to me. I guess I can have my aluminum guy weld up a 5 sided box with a ring attached with a few screws on tabs. Basically just looking for pics or other ideas that may accomplish the same thing. I really dislike the idea of buying plastic aftermarket parts. Thanks Guys.

Re: Fan Shroud.
I have actually looked for a junk yard find, but they are usually smashed up some. They become pretty brittle after 20+ years. I have considered getting one from LMC. I may actually go that route eventually. I would still like to see some custom jobs though if anyone has made them. I have plenty of .063 aluminum sheet. I used to keep a set of SAE wrenches that were magnetic under the hood. I thought a custom fan shroud would be a decent place to keep a set of wrenches and a screwdriver or two. Also a good place to sit a manual when chasing wires and such.
I have this Haynes repair manual and I was using it on the old fan on the old shroud. Forgot about it when I cranked it up and the old fan pulled the manual into it. It only cut up one particular section of that manual. The section on 6 cyl. engines. I thought that was kind of ironic. The only part of the manual that I really didn't need.

Re: Fan Shroud.
I'm looking for a stock shroud myself for a 70 3/4 ton 4 X 4. I may find myself in the same situation unless someone here has one to sell.
