Practicing my paint skills.

Figured I would start parcting my paint skills for when it is time to paint the truck. I had some black and some white paint so I did a custom paint job on my boys golf cart. Tell me what you guy's think. I think it came out pretty good for my first try at two colors. It took a lot of taping but I think it was worth it.

Re: Practicing my paint skills.

Looks pretty good to me. I would say you're ready.

What gear do you have? Spray and air... After I got a $3500+ estimate (paint only), I am thinking of doing it myself, also.

I have an Old Binks No7 spray gun and a craftsman air compressor. I have been spraying cars and everything else with this set for around 20 years. Its been a while since I have done anything big just stuff like bed covers and bug shields for freinds and such.

That's my kind of man! A 67-72 Chevy Truck guy and a golfcart guy. I build golfcarts also. Have any mods on the cart?

Re: Practicing my paint skills.

Andy4639 we both do 67-72 trucks, golf carts, and have the same name, as my name is Andy also.
The only mods I have are the lift kit and tires, Stereo, back seat, and the lite kit. It has a gas engine and I plan on playing with it later.

Re: Practicing my paint skills.

That's cool. I have a few carts of my own. I bought the red one and added a few things myself.
Wheels, radio, motor, and just touch up stuff.
Here is another one I built.

Re: Practicing my paint skills.

I know this is a bit off-topic.....but I see you guy's with your tricked-out Golf Carts and am wondering where exactly you drive them? Are they street-legal down in your parts or do you treat them like quasi-ATV's and trailer them around and drive them in off-road situations, or do ya'll live on golf courses and actually use them to haul around your clubs? I think they look cool as hell, but up here in the NW there would be no place to drive them......except on the Golf Course. Inquiring minds want to know.

Re: Practicing my paint skills.

Dingfodgy,

I use mine mainly at our beach house in Myrtle Beach SC. I have both of them insured and can drive them on any 35 MPH street as long as you are of driving age and less than 2 miles from the house, yea right. That's the legal law anyway. I have been as far as 8 miles before and nothing said.
This is what I built the dually for.

It has plenty of torque too! 150' pull at 650 lbs at the end of the pull!

68cajun,
If you get a chance check this site out for all your golfcart needs.

Re: Practicing my paint skills.

Golf Carts Are Fun!! Don't matter if you play cow pasture pool, or not. It's all about the cart.

Where I used to work, one of the higher-ups decided that used E-Z Go's would be better than trying to keep the Taylor-Dunn buggies running. All of them were electric. E-Z Go's don't have a dust-proof contactor system, but a tube of dielectric grease will go a long way to keeping them from leaping from the git-go.

Nice carts, guys.

Oh, your taping skills are fantastic. After doing all the taping, a satisfactory paint job was a no-brainer.

Re: Practicing my paint skills.

I live in a subdivision and almost everyone has one, just to run from house to house. All the kids in the subdivision ride them. I also take it camping, it can be a lot of fun, and it is my portable stereo.
