battery switch?
ok.. got the switch mounted and wired up... mouned it next to the ground for the headlights on the passenger side. tested it and truck starts in ON....and OFF.... DOH! i thought that it might be where the switch was mounted.. let switch hang free... with switch in OFF and key removed.. it still started. i can only assume the switch is toast.. i suppose i will take it back tomorrow and try another... the easiest project always become more difficult than they should be....

if you put a switch in-line with the positive power to the distributor, you won't need to constantly reprogram the stereo presets. As for the draw problem, I always have had a hard time finding those too. Check the obvious first, like amp/stereo components, then try any aftermarket wiring through the firewall for chafing then the hard stuff, factory Wiring....
good luck! have fun!

i already have the switch on the dist... i had planned on installing the switch so incase i cant find the draw tomorrow.. i keep having to disconnect the batter cable. if you disconnect the negative you dont have to reset your presets.. atleast i dont....

Did you just lop the + wire in half and put the switch right in-line coming off the battery, ord did you put it on a secondary wire?. I had a bad draw on the 74, turned out the factory clock seized up and drew a lot of power
