which 4WD axle in 47-55 stock frame

Has anyone mounted an unmodified solid front 4x4 axle in a 1947 to 1955 truck using stock spring location?
PM me with pictures and post axle type and engine sitting on top of it.

i want to find a 4wd/4x4 front axle that has a WMS distance of 60" +/- 1" that will fit in my frame.
frame has spring center distance of 26" in width so pumpkin cant be wider than 13" from center of axle...
dont think i care which side as i can find whichever transfer case to work with it. i will be running chevy 700R4 and unknown trasnfer case(TBD after axle)

will be using stock leaf springs on fabbed mounts. may go spring-under for a lower stance. clearance not an issue.

want 3.30-3.42 ratio.

do NOT want to cut any axle and want at least 11" brakes. i have 2 sets of 3/4ton axles to cut but i want somthing i dont have to cut for future replacement(expect thsi sub to go over 400k miles in my life.
thanks
Mark

I don't know about the front but I think the S-10 axle is pretty much a bolt in for the rear. You might investigate that some to see about the front.

You might try posting in the 4x4 section too. My conversion is a 59 so probably not much help. I used a 74 K10 drive train.

Solid axle has been the determination. the S10/15 is right dimensions but more work, less reliable and more moving parts.

a solid axle with locking hubs and 205 case will allow me to drive 95% in 2wd with nothing spinning, then lock hubs when i goto snowy roads, then engage tcase on-the-fly to get my 4wd.
