Question Question about the truck I found

I found a 68 GMC Custom LWB yesterday, it has been sitting outside in the weather for probably 10-15 years or longer. The bed is rusted beyond repair, the cab is still fixable, i think. I couldn't get the passenger door opened. I opened the hood it's a V8 w/2barrel carb., automatic, no power brakes or steering, non-air truck. The question is which engine came in those years? The oil filler is in front of the engine. Could it be a 327? Or is it a 283? And is it worth 200.00?

Re: Question about the truck I found

Usually a 2b would be a 283. A 327 would be listed on the glovebox door. I am not sure when the 307 came out.

Re: Question about the truck I found

I think it would be a 327.there were 2 & 4bbl versions.The 307 came in`68s,right?And that would have the later oil/vent system,but a 2bbl.
