Two Tank Omen.

Not really an omen. Since I have installed the motor out of an 84 Camaro in my 87 Silverado, my right tank isn't hooked up. I had to disconnect the electric fuel pumps and I am just running a manual for the Edelbrock carb. May put a low pressure electric back in. The tank switch was working before, but not any longer. It won't switch from showing the left tank level. I plan to hook the other tank line up and use manual fuel valves.
Does anyone have any schematics or fuel layouts for two tank setups that use a manual or low pressure setup?
I would like to get both working again. Thanks in advance.

No one has any twin tank info? Not surprising to me that it is fairly scarce. I have a Haynes manual and there is nothing in there about then either. There is about 50 or more pages of every single type carb that they used during this period though. Not altogether useless, but overkill I think. Even a single tank schematic would be a nice thing to see in there. No such luck.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It all depends on HOW you want it plumbed. One possible way is to put all the plumbing and wiring back the way it was with one small change. Add a bypassing regulator so the factory pumps stay cool and don't burn up and the new low pressure output then goes to the carb.

Thanks Guys. All I did when I made the conversion was to clip the two fuel pump wires under the truck and plug the return line under the hood. For some reason, the tank switch won't switch over. It may indeed be switching over, but the gauge doesn't show it. It operates normally for the left tank.

I didn't realize I could run the OEM pumps with a regulator. That may just be the solution I end up using.

While not a schematic, he does explain the wiring well enough for me to grasp it. At least now I have a starting reference and some options to choose from. Thanks again.
