How to keep my doors from closing

another question....forgive me if it's brainless but i'm new at all this.
my doors (driver/passenger) don't stay open.
always close on me, especially when i'm parked on incline.
seems like a simple fix...what specifically do i need to get to remedy this?

thanks

The good - Sounds like the hinges are wore out.

The bad - Alot of the repop hinges are junk

The solution - Get a rebuild kit from a Vendor

Hard Luck, are you talking about the part in the middle of the hinge?

I forgot about that part Epsorenson, it has plastic guides, I think

*EDIT - just went out and looked on GQ, they look kinda plasticish

Re: How to keep my doors from closing

You will also probably need the friction pads that rub on the check link since they are usually not included in the rebuild kits. These pieces can get worn down so thin that they barely touch the check link. These are available throught the usual chevy truck parts houses(they are a little pricey).

just dug out an old set of hinges, seems like those friction blocks would be easy to make. All you have to do is knock out one roll pin and the whole gizmo falls apart. So you have to take the hinges off to get at the parts, why not buy a couple of used hinges off the classified, rebuild them and slap them on. Then you could sell your old hinges to the next guy with the same problem... JAT J.
