TBI factory tach question

I am going to be converting my 71 to TBI and I was wondering it there is a way to use the factory tach. Is there a wire that I can splice into that would give a usable signal to the factory 71 tach?

Re: TBI factory tach question

If you are using the HEI distributor it will hook right to it. The one marked tach.
A spade connection or use the factory connection.
I have a 86 305 HO motor with factory tach.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: TBI factory tach question

I am not going to be using an HEI distributor. I am going to be using the ESC distributor off of an 89 chevy TBI setup. Out of the wires going to the distributor there has to be one with a usable signal.
