cadillac 502!!!

Can anyone help me? I can get a hold of cadillac coupe seville 74 with 502 engine. I want to know if its a bolt on to my 1972 lwb or my 400th. I want to put it on, but i dont know if is too much trouble

if you are asking if you can put the 500 caddy motor in your 72 with a 400 , yes .i personaly like the 455 buick route just do a search on this site for a handful of info . you'll have to fab up some motor mounts , first get the frame towers from a 73-87 truck , then all down hill . you can either run an adapter plate ( which is the way i went ,where i kept the stock 4speed ) or change the trans too or atleast the case .you could use th caddy trans but it would have alonger tail - driveshaft issues .

I`m no grammar teacher.But,I think I got this straight...
There is a company(or two)that make the adaptors you need for this swap:motor/trans mounts and/or bellhousing adaptor plate.I can`t think of names at the moment.Someone will chime in.We have members that have Caddies in Chevies.

Wouldn't the adapter be the way to go in this situation if you want to retain 4wd? All the info I ever see is for swapping these into 2wd trucks.
