'65 c10 truck - around the glass in the doors... ?
1965 C10 pickup
The channel that goes around the glass in my doors, is shot, worn out, missing, etc.. I need to replace that stuff in there around the glass, but what parts do I need? I already have the rubber gaskets for the wing vents, which I've read are quite the chore. I think I have the rivets[I'll check of course, before I tear into it - haha], but no rivet gun. Anyway, looking to spend some $$ this week, thought I'd double check with getting all the pieces I need. Thanks people. -W |

Re: '65 c10 truck - around the glass in the doors... ?
I just finished completely redoing all felt and rubber and channels in my 66, the first side took about 4 hours, the second side took about 1 1/2 hours. I bought the door felt kit from classic parts. It had the door glass channels, beaded window seals and division bars. I also bought the little rivet setting tool for $3.99. The division bars were not drilled and that part of the job just sucked, but the rest was pretty easy. If you just want the door glass channel, it is part # 03-315 ...14.95 from classic parts. replacing that was the easiest of all, yank the old one out and push the new one's in.

What about all the other parts?
Like that felt and metal thing in there, around the glass... Those felts strips on the inside and outside where the glass slides in to the door... I figure if I am going to get in there, I might as well fix it all at once. -W |
