not to let my secret out but i have a floorshifter now for my automatic.

i throw the column sleeve down to 1st and the neutral safety cuts the ignition. nobody notices thanks to the shifter on the floor and the fact that there's no shifter parts left on the column.

Re: i appreciate thieves

i used to install kill switches at a dealership in the late 90's and some customers had the wildest ways to have them wired. we used to use the light circuit in the visors to where you had to have viser down and the mirror cover up so the light was on to start. wired them to the wiper circuitglove box light and many other circuits. lots of options when wiring 1 up

sadly a good crew or expirienced thief will have a spare coil wire in thier bag. Back in my car audio days I used to install a lot of alarms and I hate to say it they are really false piece of mind... maybe a break on your insurance at best. Most good thieves will know color codes and which wires to by pass.
if they want it bad enough they'll get it. Only real hope is to have multiple lines of defense that will make too much time/effort to get your stuff and they'll move on. Probably do some random damage to vent their frustration.
Back in the 80's I used to solder fish hooks to the back of my stereos. Wouldn't even think of that these days. God Bless the lawyers

I seem to remember Matt stating that one of his neighbors was a boxer or UFC guy? I would like to see him catch these guys!!
