Not sure what year this tailgate is off of

I picked up this tailgate about a month ago and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet but I atleast want to figure out if it is off of a specific year.

I don't see to many with this style letter stamping, I didn't know if it was ,maybe a 67/68 style only or something laong those lines.

Any help is appreciated.

Oh I threw a few extra pictures on there to show off how nice it is lol

Don't know specific year, but in general that's a 73-87 tailgate.

S**t its not even a 67-72 gate? It looked the same size.

Will it fit a 67-72?

The bodylines don't match up, but I've actually seen pictures with them on the 67-72's... don't know if they had to modify anything though.

Good thing I only paid 25 dollars for it, maybe I can throw it on craigslist and get my money back or even make a little off it.

Just curious. Can you reskin the outside of these tailgates with the correct outer skin? I know they mount up pretty easy. Just an idea.

Re: Not sure what year this tailgate is off of

tailgate is a 73-87 style.... it is off of a 73-80 truck.... the differences are in the placement of the latch to find the specific year... there is a FAQ on it. I could use it for my 74 but I think shipping to MN would negate the overall deal ...

in NY, i would suspect that sucker is worth some coin. Those things rusted out as soon as you hit a mud puddle up here.
Then again, if they all disolved away and returned to mother earth... i guess there's only 5 left in the state... right? (square body guys.... I'm just messin... kinda)

It is a 73-76 'gate, damn nice one too!

If you would have posted this 6 months ago...when I was looking for one, you'd be richer and I would be poorer.
