valve covers info help
just got the valve cover off the 327 v8 1968 ...covered with oil all over .. I cleaned the top ... found nice orange color .. but the inside is still a lot of oil .. should I clean the insdie ??????? or take them over the sandman to S/B .. do I need all the oil off ? help plese .. HUGH

oil is supposed to be on the inside im pretty sure... LOL

just buy a couple cans of oven cleaner and give em a good spraying down inside and out. then use 3m weather strip adhesive and glue gaskets to valve covers then use permatex ultra black silicone when installing them back on engine side. ( thin coat is all thats needed. use spray starting fluid to clean cylinder head gasket surface.

spray them down with oven cleaner let set half hour then hose them off you might want to doit 2or3times they shold be completely oilfree b-4blasting
