Ahhh!!! The creme de la creme of all 67-72 chevy truck parts!! Sweet pictures! Thanks for sharing them as i have often wondered what these mythical creatures looked like and what's even better...... They are still on the truck!

Well, thats why I asked if they were mounted backwards. I dont think I have ever seen a tow hook facing forward
If you look at the pic's Wes posted a week ago(around page 4 or so now) they are COMPLETELY different....... Which is correct for the 67 ? It looks to me like the way yours are mounted Matt , that they are in rotational shear. sooo.... does anyone have a definitive answer ???? |

were they factory installed or did the dealership add them later? diffrent dealers may have installed them differently. they could both be right!

Yes they are original 67/68 hooks Matt and obviously your truck had that option but are there other holes that would allow them to be mounted as in Wes's photos?
YellowGMC if they are on the option sticker then doesn't that mean they were "factory" installed not at the dealer? the quest goes on...... |

hooks
I'm by no means an expert on this subject, but I just got a set of the '68 hooks and was planning on putting them on my '71 blazer. Problem is, I was trying to mount them like in Wes' photos. There is NO room for a bumper on a '71 if they are mounted this way. By looking at matt's pic, I went out and tried them this way(yes at 11:00pm here). They will almost fit(one bolt hole is off by a 1/2"). I'm starting to think maybe they were mounted backwards on the earlier models. I know 'burb posted a pic of the '71 style and that is what I'll keep looking for to put on the blazer. Keep in mind, this is only my opinion! Has anyone seen a set of the '68 hooks mounted(like in Wes' photos) with a factory bumper on?
Thanks, Matthew
