Re: what do you guys think of this cam ?
sounds like a cam better suited for a lighter car with alot of highrpm usage// call the cam tech line with all your specs weight tire size intended use for a recomendation
theres many small cap hei dizzys that will work with 3 4and 6deuce manifolds

Re: what do you guys think of this cam ?
You will want some good tires to go along with the fairly high stall you will want with that cam. Should sound awesome...

Re: what do you guys think of this cam ?
well i found out this cam is good for 7000 rpm,s so it will definatly have alumpy idle so i think a set of rhoads lifters will reduce it about 25% off idle till rpm,s come up then let the engine have all the cam. anybody tried these lifters out ?

Re: what do you guys think of this cam ?
You running power brakes? If so, 106 lobe separation is a little much. Need more like 110 or 112. if not 106 will have a crazy thump to it with manual brakes and a really loose converter. Or you can try one of lunatis vodoo cams they make good power down low and have a very choppy idle.

Re: what do you guys think of this cam ?
You're going to need a 3500 RPM convertor (minimum) and lower gears (4.10 minimum - 4.56 ideal) to take advantage of a cam that big. 10 : 1 compression is really not ideal either. 248/260 at .050" is pretty nasty. I have a low 11 second 82 Z28 street strip car, and my cam isn't that radical. You can also forget about running Z28 valve springs with it they are for use with .490 (gross) lift or lower. You can get away from .500" lift (I've done it) but they'll coil bind before .520/.530 lift. It will probably a nightmare trying to get a 3 deuce set -up in sync with a cam that big also. Unless you are going to race this engine, I'd back the duration back down to the 235/245 range, and it will much more enjoyable overall. Besides that cam it seems like a good set-up. The Comp Xtreme Energy 274 would be a great choice for this set-up, especially if it's going in a truck.
