Re: 1990 electric instrument cluster/speedo

Just re-pin the wiring. It is really easy. If you know someone that has ALDATA or go by the local GM dealer and speak with a technician. I went to the local GMC dealer and asked if they had some wiring diagrams for my 81 Blazer and a 1991 Suburban and they spent the time to look up the information and printed out 10-15 pages for me that day. I was really impressed with the service and wished I could return and buy a car from them for the appreciation.

Did you solder the wire directly to the three prongs coming off of the electric speedometer and disconncect the printed circuit?

no, i soldered it to the board.. il post up a picture sometime soon .. it works like it should oh yeah...ive been talking to ryan and he got me in the right directon about the water temp sensor (use a autometer electric, short sweep 260* sender) and it works fine, a stock 5.3 oil sender will work fine. the gauge reading is off, but correct in the direction, meaning the printed 30 should be 40 and so on... i dont know if i can remove the white paint and stick a decal on there or something... we will see

thanks
clint
