Front tag

Who has the front tag recessed in there bumper? Did you make it or buy it? I'm wanting to do mine and was wondering if I can buy one or going to have to make it. Anybody got a picture or how to on it.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Front tag

I dont think Ive seen one done this way.

Funny how so many guys call the plates tags. We call em plates here and the little expiration sticker is the tag.

Re: Front tag

We call`em stickers.I guess it goes back to original licensing. You`d get a "tag" once registration was paid, just like a hunting license. The plate came along as a better way to permanently display registration.I think it`s funny how many people refer to their license as plural..."I lost my license.I need to get them back".That would be licenses if there were more than one.

I`ve never seen it done on these trucks. It would be a nice mod.I wonder if you could cut it out and use a rescess from a car rear bumper.

Talking Re: Front tag

special-K, CG,

The tag is the metal part and has a sticker in the bottom cornner's of it. Registration is the paper work you have in the car with you!
This is what I want to know is there a car bumper that can be used or am I going to have to build it from scratch. Give me some idea's for this.

Thumbs up Re: Front tag

Not a complete subject change but I'm thinking of narrowing the bumper's on project Buck formally named project big orange! Gonna install 67/70 front bumper gaurds by welding them in place and shave all the bolt heads off then sending the bumpers to Advance plating in Tenn. for chrome plating!
Good luck on the recessed lic. plate sounds interesting!

Re: Front tag

OK,
So much for the tag differances. I would like to see some front bumper tag mods that have been done with a factory bumper. What has everyone done with their tags stickers whatever!

Re: Front tag

Hey...I was agreeing."We call`em stickers" was refering to the sticker which CG calls the tag.

About the bumper...You call that "recessing" the "tag" into the bumper.I call it "frenching" the "tag" into the bumper....I`m right, you`re wrong

I hope someone can pull you something up.But,at least we`re learning how to talk.

LOL! I think the moral of the story is there aren't many 67-72's out there with their tags/plates/stickers recessed/frenched/smoothed into bumper.

No problem, I was just playing along. Call it what ever. As long as we agree that's what counts. I never took French in school so I don't know their language.
I'm more a SC REDNECK kind of guy.
