Which shocks to use?????
I have a 86 1/2 ton 2WD, no extras or nothing, just stock, Want to know a good ride shock and one that looks good, also I have 4 15x9 1/2 rims, not sure what size tires look good on these, and should I use all 4 or use 2 different ones in the front

Re: Which shocks to use?????
i used the 15X8 on the rear and front and it looked nice i imagine the 9 would work well too as to shocks i used napa gas shocks about $30 each for my 86 and i used it as a work truck. it rode great withor without a load i plan on using the same setup on my 82 when i get to doing shocks and all

Re: Which shocks to use?????
I'm using Monroe Gas Magnums. I've had good experiences with their products, they seems to last a LONG time.
You can use all 4 wheels if you want. I believe 275/60's and 295/50's are the choices for those rims, depending on the look you want. Last edited by Pyrotechnic; 11-02-2007 at 12:08 AM. |

Re: Which shocks to use?????
I currently have a set of gabriel adjustable E shocks on the front and bell tech nitro drop on the rear of my '87.
I currently have a complete set of Edelbrock IAS shocks on my '99 tahoe and if they make a set for the '87 im gonna go with them. There are a really good riding set of shocks but there a bit pricy about 70 bux a pop. As for the rims theres no reason not to run them all the way around you have them so you may as well use them plus you can rotate them in any direction if you go with a differant size up front then you cannot rotate except from side to side. |

Re: Which shocks to use?????
Use Monroes. Their line that is made for large conversion vans are the best IMO

I've had extremely good luck with Monroe Gas Magnums. Good ride year round. Decent price, and lifetime warranty. ;^) ~Smitty

Re: Which shocks to use?????
I will also chime in with support for Monroe Gas Magnums. I've used many different brands and types and always come back to the Monroes. Superior ride under all conditions. Plus that glaring yellow looks good under there.
