New Brake Hoses
I called Napa, Oreilly's & Autozone today and none of them can get a brake hose for the drivers side of my 1971 chevy 2wd truck. Anyone know who stocks them??

Re: New Brake Hoses
You'll have to get them from a truck vendor.

Re: New Brake Hoses
Not trying to hijak the thread but since the original questioon appears to have been answered I have a few questions related to the same topic.
I know this does not matter to most but I would like to find a set of hoses where the fittings that bolts to the calipers looks similar to the originals. Are fittings on the NAPA hoses round or rectangular? Does anyone sell original looking style hoses? Is there anyway to have the rubber or nylon part of the original hoses replaced with the original fittings? My truck is original in a lot of ways and I would prefer to keep it that way if I can. |

Re: New Brake Hoses
The fittings appear to be round.

Re: New Brake Hoses
Burnout, is your truck disk/drum or drum/drum? Does anyone know if the 70 disk/drum will work on a 71?

Re: New Brake Hoses
70 did not have disk brakes, so no the front hoses will not work.
I don't know for sure if they are different, but I have heard that 71 is unique and slightly different from the 72 and new hoses.

Re: New Brake Hoses
The 71 has one hose that is 71 truck only, And it is the left side, I ran into this when I changed my 69 over to disk, The metal brake lines that are attatched to the crossmember have two different size fittings that screw into the rubber brake hoses, I did order mine from Napa 2 yrs ago....George
