Inner fenders?
Does anyone know if any companies make plasic inner fender wells, or something other then steal? Looking for a little weight reduction and not having to worry about them rusting out.

I wish I knew that too.
I had a '68 SS Chevelle once. It had steel inner fender wells. My '69 Malibu, however, had fiberglass ones.

USbody.com is who makes the fiberglass inner fender wells, but they are not too cheap. I'm looking for plastic but I don't think anyone makes them. Someone should though!

USBODY 109.00 each? are you sure? I just spent the day upgrading their parts in our catalog and they are 169.00 in their catalog, 149.00 in ours. Are they doing a special on these that they forgot to tell me about?

I believe thats a goodmark part number for the steel inner fender. The same fender in most catalogs for 80-90.00. The usbody part number is FCGW-72.

The steel repro's aren't very heavy by any means. I couldn't imagine saving much weight with another type.

There is a "glass man" near Washington PA named Henry Cassidy His Company is Fibercast Products 724-225-8690. He makes all sorts fo fiberglass tubs and showers, but he also sells 67-72 parts from the south. And he makes glass inners, stepside outers, and other parts for our trucks. I had a set of his inner fenders but sold them. He sells at all the local swap meets. I am VERY sure his are way less than $100 each, Good luck

I have a set of fiberglass inners on my truck. I bought them in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. The place is called McMillan Fiberglass and the number is 519-371-0579. I paid $150 each (Cnd.). They fit well, look good. I had to make my own holes to mound them on the fenders. Hope this helps.

I don't think you would save much weight by using plastic or glass. Besides, i ahve some aftermarket steel ones that just do not fit. I can't imagine how horrible glass or plastic would be.

More then saving weight I just don't want to mess with the repro not fitting and the steel rusting out. I was just checking out options for inners.

My repro's went right in with no problem. I painted them with a high quality paint/primer/sealer and undercoated the inner sides. They aren't going anywhere for at least 30 years!
With plastic or fiberglass, you have to worry about cracks or breaks and I've never seen one that fit right. I like the fact that my truck is made of metal, that's one of the reasons I own only old cars/trucks. I say let the plastic for the newer cars where it belongs! LOL ![]()

XXL no problem it happens to me all the time, we put them in our catalog for 149.00 and steel for 80.00. USBODY has very high quality fiberglass parts and i'm very happy they took me on as a dealer.
