Aluminum radiator
I need some help. I want to try to find an aluminum radiator that will be the easiest install. The truck is a 71 SWB. What companies are good for this? The cheaper the better. Will be buying an electric fan through Old Air for it this week, but still need to find an aluminum radiator. It is a 350 motor with less than 400hp.... suggestions?

The 73-79 Chevy truck radiator's listed are the same and will fit, the only change you will need to do is put a angled bottom hose connector on in place of the straight that they come with.
I hope this helps, as these are cheaper and easier to find. Or if you run accross one of these at a swap meet, etc...

If you search "chevy aluminum radiator" on ebay, there is a place that sells direct bolt ins for around $400. I would post a link but I'm computer illiterate.

I just bought one.... it fits decently except for the right top mount. It doesn't clear the rad fill and I had to modify the mounting bracket. I havn't run the engine yet with it so I can't speak for the cooling ability, but the fit isn't great, but you can "make it work"... i'll post some pictures probably next week of my progress in a seperate thread...
one other thing is that its pretty fragile. Much more so than the standard rad.

if you only have 400 horses... what's the big deal in getting an alluminum rad? The advantages are minimal, and in a low power engine, there are no real advantages. just a rad that is more fragile, and more expensive to repair.

Thanks for the info... I got mine mainy for the look and b/c it was a bit cheaper. I'm not gonna be driving my truck everyday, so I figured wear and tear would be minimal.
