1967 Wheels
Could someone help me with obtaining the "origanal" wheel and tire sizes for the 1967 stepside C10. My truck has 6 lugs all the way around, an inline 6, and a 3 speed manual. It came with fancy chrome rims. The size of the rims or the tires must be incorrect because my speed is incorrect. I would like to put the origanal size wheels and tires back on my truck. Not just to drive at the correct speed, but to have my truck look stock again. Thank you for your help.

Re: 1967 Wheels
regular steel rims with H-78-15 were the norm on most

Re: 1967 Wheels
or tires like 7.00 15". wheels are like 5 inch. If you are going to run radials a 225/75/15 would be close to original. if you are non pwr steering I'd consider a 215/75 or even seen ppl run 205/75 15 on the front.

Re: 1967 Wheels
Would the stock wheels for my truck have been 5", 6", 7', or ?" wide? What color would they have been? Also, I measured between two opposite lugs and got about 5.5". Is that what is referrd to as the lug pattern? Thanks.

Re: 1967 Wheels
5 on 5 is the 5lug truck pattern 71 and up. Most stock wheels are quite narrow, 6" at most, I've seen them at 5.5 or something too. Make manual steering much easier with these too.

Re: 1967 Wheels
It might say on your glove box spid what tires came on your truck. From this you can determine the wheels as well. Standard wheel with the 1/2 ton plain jane was 5.5 in. wide with 8.15-15 tire. Option rim widths were 5.0, 5.25, and 6.0 in different diameters but these would have been listed on the spid.
I hope that helps.

Re: 1967 Wheels
Original bais ply tires are still available, but have to be special ordered. The closest standard size tire I have seen today is a 7.00-15 LT. The rims would be painted black on solid paint jobs and would be body color when Tu Tone.

Re: 1967 Wheels
I wanted the all stock original look for my truck , and as seen on this blue 67 stepside pic the truck's with the white bumpers and white hubcaps without the custom or CST option got blackwall tire's , my 67 is as plain jane as it got ! mine did not have a radio or a pass visor , mine should have blackwall tire's , I don't want byias ply's on my truck but I think I will get some plain black tire's next time for even more of the POVERTY look ,,,,,,
by the way do you have any other stock 67 pic's ? where did the blue 67 pic come from I have not seen that one before ? dealer book ?

Re: 1967 Wheels
Thank all of you for your help. I just purchased a blue 1967 stepside form Tuszon and am going to restore it as close to origanal as I can. From what I am seeing I have learned more about my new truck with all of your help then I could ever hope to on my own. If I have it right, I need 5.5" wide X 15" high black wheels. And 8.15-15 black wall tires. In some of the pictures you guys sent I see the dogdish hubs, which are whight with a colored ring painted on them. Could someone tell me what color the ring is please and how high my tires should be overall?
