Anyone have any pics of a factory 67 to 72 1 ton 4x4. Was there even one made? Just curious.

The 1 ton 4x4 made its debute in 1978. 14 bolt FF and a D60 front.
The 8 lug rigs of the 67-72 era are rated at 3/4 ton and quite a few will have an Eaton rear axle, and some have a Factory Detroit in them as well. D44 fronts with the closed knuckle till 71 I believe. External hubs, big suckers too. external hubs went till 76 then the internal ones. for 3/4 ton rigs. In 78 The general decided to install a D60 front axle and call it a K30. Either in a dually or a SRW rig, regular cab or a 4 door(3+3)

Actually, '77 was the first year for the K30. Definitely no such thing in '67 - '72 though.

I was going to say they had them in 77 because a friend bought his 1 ton 4x4 new in77. Ihave a 77 4 door single wheel 1 ton 4x4. Interesting both trucks use blocks under the springs and 2wd spring hangers in the rear. I have a 79 1 ton 4x4 that has the longer spring hangers to increase the ride hieght. I guess in 77 gm hadn't came up with the longer spring hanger for the 1 ton 4x4 yet. Oh the reason I asked if there were factory 72 1 ton 4x4 is there is a guy running around in one and claims it was a fctory 4x4. I guess I could of been a 1 ton 4x4 since new but I would probaly guess it was converted when brand new by a conversion co.

If it's a 67-72 1-ton 4 wheel drive, it's a conversion. Anyone that tells you different is either mislead or lying.
I'm pretty sure that the Dana44 went open knuckle in '70 (at least in Chevy). Not 100%, but I'd bet a Lincoln on it if I had to. I thought I noticed that in a service manual. I'll have to check.

Just for the record. I had a late '69 with an open knuckle front end. I think '69 must have been a transition year. Gee, I could use a Lincoln.....

My 69 is a closed knuckle and I think your right that it was a transition year. Mine has the Rockwell T-221 transfer case.
What does yours have? Seems like most of the 69 trucks had the Rockwell, but not the Blazers. Looks like were all in agreement that no 67-72 factory 1 ton 4x4's. I thought '70 was the transition year.
My '69 has closed knuckle with a rockwell. The service manual shows the '69 with a closed knuckle and the '70 with an open.

i thought in '69 the trucks had the closed knuckle but,the blazer came with the open knucle.

The '69 I was talking about was a 3/4 ton and it also had the NP205 transfer case with 4 speed. It was a loaded truck with AC and a NoSpin rear.

I had a '69 blazer as well with open knuckle front and 350/205 tranny/transfer combo. Bought from original owner who said the only thing changed was the weak 6cyl. for a 327.

Actually you can get the exact cut tires from usa6x6.com fairly cheap.That is a cool looking ride.Wish I had 2.5 ton axles under my rig.

Thats a nice 1 ton con. Rod. Can anyone tell me what kind of front axle that one is? Check out the steering linkage on that truck also.

Greetings...
Just spoke to the fellow-'69 flatbed dump, dually, 4wd, he assumes it's a one ton because of all the springs and does not know of a designation on it (e.g. c20, c30, etc...). He bought it from someone using it to haul wood and has used it to haul construction debris to the dump. It's got a newer 350 in it mated to a 4 speed. Cab corners are rusty (he filled them with expanding foam). Needs new lockout hubs (he says they dont' lock anymore). Any thoughts as to its value (northeast US)? Time to price hubs....
