Linkage Differences?
I am still toying with going to the th350 from my th400 what are the differences in linkages? thanks

Not the same
They have different frame mounts, if that's the right word for them. The piece with the stub sticking out. 4X4 is also different.

not to step on your thread but is it the same for a powerglid to a th350? that is what i am going to go to

Could you even get a 400 turbo from the factory (67-72) in a 4x4??? My 72 heavy duty 3/4 ton 4x4 camper special has a 350
turbo hydramatic originally. Hence where would you get the correct linkage?

TH-400 were not offered in the 67-72 4x4 trucks. They came out later.
The shift linkages are different for the 400. The 400's are wider at the shift linkage so the linkage has to be shorter. Jim |

I've seen 400 with 350 linkage and 400 linkage ... It may have depended if it was BB or not also may be a variable... pulled linkage off a 69 that was 350 / 400 and it was the same as 350/350. Tranny was original in the 350/400.
As for the powerglide column, it may only have two positions for drive and may not work on a 3 spd auto column...better check it out.
