Question Who ownes this Blazer/Tahoe???????

I was searching through this site for a tread that had a talented fabricator customizing a 72 or so Blazer and came across this custom Blazer and wanted to know who it belongs to to ask him details. Anyone know?? Also if anyone knows which tread had the metal fabricator customizing the crap out of a Blazer with an awesome dash and center counsel made out of pipe, please let me know, I wasn't able to find it. Thanks guys!!

The blazer pictured above is owned by a member here, his screen name is brad2. I believe the blazer may be up for sale right now, also.

VT - I think you're thinking of the wrong blazer. smbrouss70 has the right guy. He's posted pictures of the truck in its current state about a year ago. As I recall, he hasn't made much progress in a while and he may have had a buyer lined up.

Re: Who ownes this Blazer/Tahoe???????

I messaged both Brad2 and Smbrouss70 to see if they had the Blazer/Tahoe, which I cleverly named the "Tazer" - is that a new one or has that been used yet? Hopefully its for sale for a decent price...

I'd like to see more of that thing too. I think that's the only pic I've ever seen. I'd call it a BlaHoe...

Here are a few more. It is Brads and last I heard he still has it but the shop that was doing the work kind of kicked him to the back corner for a few guys that had way to much money. I hope he does not sell it, but finds the right people to give him a hand finishing it up. Hard to belive this was a 4x4 in its past life. As always Brad great vision!

A nomad type gate with the chrome strip molding might look nice.

When I first saw that Blazer, Nomad was the first thought I had. Be cool to make it into a RetroNomad, looks like it would work. I'd have to make it 4wd tho.!! Wonder if you could graft the '56 tailights on it with the fuel filler still inside, round off the rear quarter windows more, then the tailgate would work...jat

Re: Who ownes this Blazer/Tahoe???????

He's off to a good start. I like the name... "Blaze Air." The B pillar is a perfect match. The wheel well openings look like they may need to be extended a little bit longer toward the rear. The rear wheel well opening looks like it needs to come down too.

I'm not too crazy with the way the side rear windows abruptly stop with the skinny tapered pillar. The drawing of the grille looks nice with solid horizontal bar and integrated turn signals.

Re: Who ownes this Blazer/Tahoe???????

Thanks for the nice words about my truck. I will try to answer the questions in one post. Originally it was a nearly rust free 71 2wd Jimmy. I now regret slicing it up so much because so little of the original vehicle remains and I certianly could have started with a 4wd. I do miss the the original version.

The rear has a tailgate with a shaved handle. It is only a shaved handle and not a completed skin. That is to much flat metal in my opinion. The rear gate will or should I say should be a glass unit much like you would see on something like a S-10 Blazer. The edges would be painted and we have the hardware to mount it so it would look like an OEM piece if they ever came that way.

The taillights so far are just stock but the gas filler is behind the left tail light.

The lights will not be like the rendering becuase there are not any lights like that and I am not spending the money on one off headlights. The grill at this point is just a 67-68 unit with the center section removed. The plan was to have some sort of horizontal bar across it but we are not there yet.

The truck does have sort of a Nomad vibe to it. The rendering of the yellow was the version we intended to do but there were a few issues with the design. The truck has real trim and the trim behind the B pillar would be pretty difficult to build due to the body lines in that area. Plus the trim on the front fender looked way to fat. We are pretty close to this varation and this is the first time I have ever posted it. It isn't planned in these colors even though I think they look pretty good.
