New from NC
Don't have one yet but I'm lookin' a '72 SWB 4x2 that is not a rust bucket.
I thought I'd do some reading and learn what to look out for and what is the most common sickness with the 72 B-4 I jumped in over my head. Last edited by 03HDFATBOY; 11-05-2007 at 01:22 PM. |

Re: New from NC
Welcome to the board from another NC.member.I have had 3 trucks in the past 17 years, all 67-72 and most had the same problems, some rust in cab corners, rocker panels etc. After 35 years it is not hard to find an electrical issue here and there as well. For the most part, everyone works on there trucks as a hobby,so I fix what I can when money and time permit.

Re: New from NC
That would be good if not 2 much trouble, Dunn in a nice haul for me I'd hate to ride all the way down there to find out it is out of my price range. It is a SWB right?
Thanks in advance, FATBOY

Re: New from NC
I stopped and looked at that truck for you. I thought it had the 72 grill but doesn't, it's a 68 longbed. Body is in pretty good shape, has some bondo in door corners and rust near the doors. Lower half of drivers side door needs replacing, passenger lower half needs tlc. It has a new 350 engine and a new (I think)700r4. Engine compartment is very clean, new radiator, mounts, etc. He wants 3500 for it, I gave him the web address here and he said he'd post it for sale.
He also has (i think) a 72 c 10, not sure of bed size. But it has a built, blown 454. I remember looking at it a while back and it was sharp. He's gonna ebay that this week and possibly post it here. I believe he wanted 10 (ish) at that time. |

Re: New from NC
Thanks for checking that out for me. I like a 68 also but don't care too much for a long bed. Price sounds OK I guess. My O/L said there was a SWB down the road from her mom's house under a shelter but she weren't sure what kind of shape it was in so I guess were gonna check it out this weekend.
Thanks again for taking the time to check it out for me. FATBOY
