Horn/Steering column problem...
So the latest bit of drama coming from my mechanic about my 69 restore is that there is some sort of "bushing" in the steering column that isn't made for my truck anymore that allows for contstant contact for the Horn. Does anyone know what part this is, if it really*isn't* made for my truck anymore and, if it *is* how hard it would be for me to do it myself?

Re: Horn/Steering column problem...
There is a plastic circular ring that goes in there, but the horn will work without it. I looked for a thread that I posted in some time ago that talked specifically about the ring in question, but I had no luck finding it. I do know that my horn works perfectly and I don't have the part I believe you're talking about.

That's the one. Doesn't seem like it was that long ago....where does the time go?

You're right, that was awhile ago.

Re: Horn/Steering column problem...
Thanks for all the help guys-I'm printing the links and pix out, since it looks like I'm going to be taking the attitude of "if you want anything done right you're going to have to do it yourself".
