Re: 4x4 with air bags?

I fully under stand them I just have never built a system (yet). I am thinking about a twin set up with two smaller turbo's for a balanced look and it will be very low. I feel it would be easier with two seperate systems then trying to cross over to one and then I would need one larger exhaust pipe instead ot just two reasonable sized ones. It will be a show vehical for the first year then a tire eater after that. I am planning on a 2001-2005 vett LS1 for the power plant. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Kevin

If your building a show truck and going for the bling factor, then twins and an LS1 are a good thing. But if you don't have unlimited money, you can make more power, with less money with a iron 6l and a single. Heck, you can even stroke it and have a 408. With twins, you have to buy and build 2 of everything. With a setup like mine, I only had to build 1 manifold (used the stock manifold on the drivers side, they flow VERY well and being thick cast, they will stand up very well too), 1 cross over pipe, 1 turbo, 1 waste gate and 1 down pipe. Quicker, easier and cheaper to build and can make as much or more power.

Twins are always impressive to look at, but don't kid your self if you think they will be easier. There is MUCH more pluming involved

One of them turbo muffler things (someone on the internet told me it dosn't work, so it must be true )
An extra radiator for the air (don't know what that does )
A bumpy stick thingy from a Corvette
And on top of that my truck has a drug problem, it addicted to meth! Anyone know a good rehab center

Project
72 Chevy 4x4 longbed, 5.3/4L60 swap with a Master Power T-70 turbo and air bags in the works

Re: 4x4 with air bags?

What all did you or will you need to do for computer tuning? I am not aposed to a iron 6L but like I said this will be a show vehical to start with so I want it to look clean and balanced but I should be able to do that with a single and some sheet metal work. What is a ball park amount for parts that you have in your set up if you don't mind me asking? Thanks for the insite!

I use EFILive FlashScan V2 for tuning, www.efilive.com. I can hook you up if you need it . I have been tuning my other truck with it for over 2 1/2 years now.

$$$ in this truck, I don't want to think about it, lol. Are you talking about just the turbo setup or the hole truck? The cost of the turbo setup can very greatly depending on what parts you use. If you go brand name or knock off. Most of the parts I used I built or are quality knock offs that I inspected thoroughly before I installed them.

If you want to discuss this or turbo's in general, feel free to keep asking questions here, or hit me up on AIM or MSN at this same SN.

Yes I was just talking about the turbo set up and just the parts that you did not make. I can build alot of it my self so it will just be the main items I was wondering about a ball park $ on. Thanks for your time.
