Another dreaded radio question
I didn't want to stray from the original question on the previous radio related post so I started a different one.
What is everyone using as a mounting kit for their after market HU's that they have? I too plan on cutting my dash and was curious how everyone is holding their radios in place. Also, is there a wiring harness you can get for these old trucks or is everyone just hard wiring them in? |

Re: Another dreaded radio question
For mounting I just cut the hole to the same size as the basket and pushed all the close tabs down. Then mounted the strap they have for them in the back to stabilize it even more. When I redo my interior I'm going to weld a plate on the back of the dash the same size as the hole to make it a little thicker. For wiring I just hard wired it in.

Awesome. Thanks for all the info guys. It looks a lot easier than it thought. Looks like I'm going to be breaking out the dremel soon.
