Throttle cable?
I know this has been covered before, but...........................
Has anyone found a good source for replacement gas pedal to carb cables? I have a '72 K20 with a 350, the cable thats on it is too long and doesn't work smoothly. Thanks! |

Re: Throttle cable?
I think GM may still carry them. Just make sure you ask for the 4wd cable.

Re: Throttle cable?
I replaced mine last night after storing it in my garage for 2 years . It's too long by about 1.5". I got it from GM, so I assume it's correct.
The original owner replaced the carb with an Edelbrock, which I replaced with a later Qjet. Are there different throttle levers that provide a longer attachment point for the cable? I noticed LMC shows the same throttle cable for 350 and 402 assuming 2WD. Maybe I need to get a Lokar. Sorry for the hijack. eric

Re: Throttle cable?
I had this problem with my 50' as well .... all the cables I tried were too long. Cured it with a Lokar cable and never looked back. I'm not happy with my present carb. or the throttle linkage on the 70'. Will be changing to an Edelbrock 1405 carb. and be replacing the linkage as well.
What I could use is a source for a throtle rod. Anyone know where a guy can get one? esll.
