Dumb temp gauge question…
I looked around a little but couldn’t find an answer. Exactly what temperature values do the vertical lines represent on these original temp gauges?

A little less cooler and a whole lot hotter? As long as you're in the middle you're o.k. See you guys on Sunday.

Re: Dumb temp gauge question…
Critter, grab your wife's meat thermometer from the kitchen and put it in the radiator and what the guage and it. I find these gauges vary from truck to truck. My K5's gauge is very near the right side when the temp is actual 180, while my 69's was about in the middle at 180.

Re: Dumb temp gauge question…
At 180, my gauge is just over 1/4 above the C mark. The oil pressure gauge is right on.

Re: Dumb temp gauge question…
It depends on your temp sender. I melted one in the Fox and it shorted itself out reading all thew way hot. The replacement couldn't go pat 1/2, so I got another. I'm sure there are different temp ranges like thermostats, but the guys at the parts counter couldn't tell me which was which. I can play with mine on the Fox because the radiator fans are on a manual switch. With my current sender and a 190 thermostat, the needle hovers about 1/8" pat that first hash with the fans on.
