crossmember help!

The frame I bought for the 67 I am building had a 73-87 crossmember installed when I bought it.. The engine mounts that are bolted to the frame are taller than the top of the frame and have two pieces of 1/4 inch plate under them to take up the slack... I dont know if they are the 67 engine stands or a set of 73-87.. My question is I am putting a big block in it and wondering if there are special engine stands for big block trucks or they are all the same and only the mounts are different??? Please let me know if you know... I know this has probably been on here a 100 times but could not find a good answer.. Thanks!

Re: crossmember help!

They are probably the 73-87 engine stands on the truck now. You can use them for a big block but to make it look good they will have to be cut down.

Re: crossmember help!

just get them down flush with the frame and take the spacers out?? I was most likely going to do that and drill new holes in the bottom of the frame for the mounts..

Re: crossmember help!

This will help if you have the 73-87 parts.
