preferred front drop parts
I am seeing mention of dropped lower control arms, some tubular and some modded stockers of 1 1/2" to 3" drops. These with stock springs should ride ok. What about front end alignment or ball joint wear concerns? These should only be used with large diameter wheels to keep the scrub line above the rim edge right?

all of the quality drop specific parts are to correct geommetry and tire wear issues. We all know that you can get low cheap with a die grinder or torch to the springs.
Cheap+Low= bumpy ride/tire wear. Depending on how low you want to go will determine what parts or combo of parts to use. 2-3" can be done with EITHER spindles,drop/stepped LCA's, or drop coils. you shouldn't combine spindles AND drop/sterpped LCA's with stock diameter wheels because the lower ball joint will contact the ground in the event of a flat. Certain States have "Scrub Line" laws that require the wheel to be the lowest contact point of the vehicle. 4+" will require a combo of spindles and coils/ bags or possibly a frame "Z". I'm running spindles/bags and ART strong arms on mine All installed of the world famous DropMember. The Strong arms don't actually drop the rig by themselves but correct ball joint placement and angle to eliminate bind. The set-up should allow a smooth ride with good handling and excellent wear of all parts and tires. It's only downside is it definately wasn't cheap. Not sure if I provided the answers you were looking for or not... I tend to get long winded and off topic..... anyway I hope this helped. Josh
