small block numbers

Can anyone tell me what the numbers stand for on the driver side back of the block 3970010.Any help would be great.

according to my book,3970010 was a 327 if made in 1968 and a 350 from 69-79 . if you can get the date code we might find more info.

The date code should be in the same area you found that number and will start with a letter and be followed by two,three,or four digits.

Its hard to tell there is number on top of numbers i think its 25B or 625B

on the long list the last 3 are25 b? hmmm let me see if that tells me, scrape it lightly with sand paper. i thought they should be all letters but ill look. brb

The 010 block is a high nickel content block and can be either 2 or 4 bolt mains. I prefer these blocks for rebuilds over the newer ones.

I think i got it now.this row is smaller T7Z513625 then bigger ones are VO126TXB

TXB 1975 350 conv.cab L LS9 165 4 C-20 to 3500 What is the number 4 stand for. I looked it up and the 4 is in a column bbls.What is bbls stand for? What does the L LS9 stand for?
